All boat excursions must be pre-booked and are dependent on the weather, the number of guests and the activities. Please consult us for any information.

THE ECOTOUR

The Nëkwéta Surf Camp, located at la Roche Percée, is the departure point of this authentic and fascinating excursion..
For those who don’t know the Bourail bay, it is the ideal way to discover its beauties and legends, and even those who believe they know the area will be surprised. Manu was born and bred here, and is strongly connected to the surroundings, he knows all the best coral reefs, where to find dolphins, turtles and eagle spotted rays. The ecotour is a total immersion in Bourail’s environment and has a fun and educative dimension.
This excursion will take you through the Néra river mangroves, past Green Island to the barrier reef passes, and back to the Roche Percée beach and cliffs, the “Bonhomme” and Turtle bay. These places are highly charged with local beliefs and you will be told about their myths and legends while observing the environment’s fauna.
During the snorkelling activity on the barrier reef, you will have the opportunity to observe reef inhabitants, such as eagle spotted eagles, turtles, (their presence is of course not guaranteed). Dolphins are often observed during the tour, and when present they usually put a show on for Manu’s guests.
When ? Weekdays and weekends, pre-booking required .
What Time ? Departure time: 8h00 / 8h30 from the Nëkwéta Surf Camp, depending on weather. Arrival : 12h30 / 13h00 (Times to be confirmed with Manu when booking)..

SURF CHARTER
Want to sample the surf on the New-Caledonian barrier reef? Bourail is the go, and Manu is the guide for it. On board his 7.4 meter banana boat with a 175 horse power four stroke Suzuki engine, you will discover the area’s magic waves. Lefts and rights are on the menu.
No board, don’t panick ! Boards can be rented out at Nëkwéta Surf Camp.
Manu will surf with you or will keep an eye on you from the boat which stays anchored by the break, and will inform you about local traditions. (Link to surf info –important rules).
The boat usually heads back to Nëkwéta Surf Camp for lunch, where surfers enjoy the food in the shade of the tropical garden. Don’t forget, all meals must be pre-booked!!
The best option is the full board and accommodation package. Staying in the Melanesian style hut or at Manu’s bed and breakfast house makes is an experience in itself!! .

For Who ? Departure time: early mornings, depends on weather, swell and tides, from the Nëkwéta Surf Camp. Surf 4 to 6 hours depending on the surf (Times to be confirmed with Manu when booking).
Pour qui ? For all experienced surfers, some waves are suited for beginners and bodyboarders.

Taxi Boat Ile Verte
Green Island is a coral limestone outcrop with a white sand beach surrounded by crystal waters, just 10 minutes from the Surf Camp. The island is a marine reserve, the rules are simple and strict : guests mustn’t touch anything or interfere in any way. This is the only way to preserve the natural habitat and behaviour of the fauna. Some guests like to venture on a walk around the island, which takes half an hour, whilst others prefer relaxing in the shade or sunbathing. Kids like to play in the water, and snorkelers count fishes in the coral paradise nearby.

What Time ? Departure time is arranged according to your needs, but depends on the weather (Times to be confirmed with Manu when booking).
